First Try!!

(Published on 27. October 2025, 22:07 by illandres)

Hello, and thank you for trying my first ever Sudoku! I hope you enjoy!

Rules:

Normal Sudoku rules apply. Place the digits 1-9 once each in every row, column, and 3x3 box.

Anti-Knight: Cells a chess knight’s move apart cannot contain the same digit.

German Whispers: Adjacent Digits on a green German Whispers line must differ by at least 5.

Killer Cages: Digits in cages do not repeat and sum to the total given in the top left corner of the cage.

Solve online:Sudokupad

Happy solving!

Solution code: Row 9 digits, left to right, no spaces.

Nice puzzle, surprisingly straight-forward given the global constraint.
Looking forward for a first try with no anti-knight though :)

------

Thanks so much for solving and for the feedback! I do love an anti-knight puzzle, but am working on my second puzzle, and that one doesn't have it! When it publishes, will try to remember to update here with the link!

at first glance, looks as good as any other comparable puzzle: a couple lines, a couple unforced cages, that's all you get.
(plus the rule everyone forgets).
and first impression is correct, but it's surprisingly easy.
to the setter: deserves a higher quality rating, because it's a good, solid puzzle with zero defects. be advised that the ratings on this site are frequently disconnected from reality

-------

Thanks so much for the feedback, there are definitely some deductions that were easier than intended upon further review, but all in all I am pleased with the simplicity of the grid leading to a pretty quick and simple solve!
