I tried to make this puzzle in the style of Nicolas Duhail, but I think the final result has characteristics that make it so that only I could have set it.
Normal Sudoku rules apply.
Dutch Whispers: Adjacent digits on an orange line differ by at least 4.
Ascending Starters: Clues outside the gird give the sum of digits starting from the clue until digits are no longer ascending.
Solution code: Column 9

This was a struggle, but so very worth it!

@redovermars imagine the relevant column/row has a thermometer starting next to the clue and going inwards. for example if row 1 was filled in with 456789132 then the first digit of the 9 clue is a 2, always going into the sum, next is 3 (ascending) and then 1 is less than 3 so the sum stops, 2+3=5 breaks the clue.
i found the break-in interesting and approachable, but around half-way through the eliminations got complex so i think it's a little harder than 3, though not too much

@ymhsbmbesitwf Thank you. It seems that I understand correctly, so the place where I went wrong is elsewhere....
