Top Notch

(Published on 17. September 2025, 23:45 by 99%Sneaky)

Intro:

It's been far too long since I posted a disjoint puzzle oh no :O Better post this one before I lose my disjoint cred!

Rules:

#1 Normal sudoku rules apply.
#2 Digits along purple lines form a non-repeating consecutive set.
#3 Digits in large white circles must appear once in the four surrounding cells.
#4 Digits in cages sum to the small number printed in the corner.
#5 Any two cells which are in the same relative position within their respective 3x3 boxes must contain different digits. For example, if 7 was placed in the top-left corner of box 1, then no other boxes could have a 7 in their top-left corner.

i bumbled around for a bit, but once I found the correct break-in, I started over. it must be fun to be smart. :)

With many constructors, you can guess fairly successfully which clues were the core idea and which clues were added to complete the solve. What makes Sneaky so sneaky is the clues are always very balanced. Lovely design.

Made things a lot more challenging for myself by completely forgetting the disjoint constraint after the break-in, but very smooth once I shook the cobwebs out and remembered the rules! Beautiful puzzle.

Maybe a bit of a one trick pony, but when that one trick is so clever it makes for a great fun.

Took me a while to realize how to approach it, but after that the puzzle flowed beautifully. Thanks!

You might be 99%Sneaky, but your disjoint cred surely is 100% restored. I got lucky in noticing the break-in very quickly, so it felt easier than 3 stars. Thank you for the fun puzzle!
