RULES:

Normal sudoku rules apply: Place the digits 1-9 once each in every row, column, and 3x3 box.

Leon the cat has the sleepies and needs to have dinner before getting to bed. Leon must create a path that is rotationally symmetrical through the grid. His path cannot move diagonally and cannot cross itself or touch itself orthgonally. His path is divided into two distinct segments, centered on his dinner cell in R5C5, one containing only digits lower than 5 and the other containing only digits higher than 5. The dinner cell may be either high or low.

Magnets: A magnet is a three cell long straight line (orthogonal or diagonal) consisting of a high pole, a low pole, and a central cell marked by a magnet symbol. A high pole must contain a digit higher than 5, A low pole must contain a digit lower than 5, and the central cell may contain any digit. Poles of the same type may not touch each other orthogonally but poles of opposite types may. For clarity, Poles of the same type are allowed to touch diagonally. Different magnets may not cross each other or share cells. The three digits on a magnet must sum to the small number in the corner of its central cell and may repeat if allowed by other rules.

INTRODUCTION:

Created as part of this year's Scojo imposter prompt, I ended up drawing the man himself. Luckily, I won! ("Look at me... I'm the Scojo now").

Would you have been able to tell the difference?

Ahh, I did this without seeing that the cats path was rotationally symmetric. It was very difficult, I hope I didn't skip any of the logic.
---
@War - I'm sure you didn't, the symmetry is just meant to take some of the sting out of the back half of the puzzle <3 -- VKP

Updated rule(s): clarified summing of magnets; noted rotational symmetry of pathing (previous error due to copying puzzle from older version).

brutal!!
---
@blueberrypug - I'm so sorry! someone pointed out I put up an older version of the rules, missing the rotational symmetry of the path. I really hope it didn't detract from the experience <3 -- VKP

Damn, I was so sure I made this. Maybe next year
