Knight under Pressure

(Published on 9. September 2025, 12:49 by 72kchunshuai)

A friend told me that today is International Sudoku Day (well, at least in my time zone), so I felt I needed to share a Sudoku puzzle right away!

I found this one in my to-do list—it was originally a by-product I set while working on another puzzle. I think it serves as a good practice exercise, and experienced solvers shouldn't find it too difficult. Hopefully, one day I'll be able to finalize that original puzzle and share it with you.

I'd love to hear your feedback. Hope you have a great day!

Rules:

  • Squishdoku: Place digits from 1-9 in every cell,so that no digit repeats in a row, column,or 3x3 region. The dashed lines indicate the boundaries of regions, and cells on the lines are simultaneously part of the regions on both sides of the line.
  • Anti-Knight: Cells that are a knight's move apart in chess cannot contain the same digit.
  • Arrows:Digits along an arrow must sum to the digit in the attached circle.

Another friend of mine once said, "The smaller the grid size is, the stronger the Anti-Knight rule becomes," and I think he was speaking a profound truth.
