Fun with consecutives

(Published on 2. September 2025, 23:28 by Plok)

This is just a simple non-consecutive sudoku puzzle. Fun to create and fun to solve. Not too difficult if you remember the rules ;-)

Play on:
Sudokupad
f-puzzles

Rules:
Anti-knight: duplicate numbers can't appear within a chess knight's move of each other
Anti-King: duplicate numbers can't appear within a chess king's move of each other
Non consecutive: Two othogonnaly connected cells cannot contain consecutive numbers

I love feedback.

Solution code: The first 3 numbers in the 1st column read from top to bottom

Updated description to say it is a non-consecutive sudoku. Sorry for the inconvenience. Completely missed the typo.

Please edit the puzzle description and the rules on SudokuPad to reflect that this IS a sudoku puzzle. I shouldn't have had to go to the comments to confirm that.

For those who are thrown off by the description saying, "This is just a simple non-sudoku puzzle.":
Standard sudoku rules DO APPLY. It *is* a sudoku puzzle. Once you realize that, it's very nice and well-constructed.

Removed puzzle variant checkmark. I thought that meant sudoku variant, but is interpreted as non-sudoku. My bad ;-)

antiknight+antiking is a dead horse at this point, only one solution up to digit relabeling, rotations and reflections without nonconsecutive or any clues

This follows sudoku rules. I think perhaps you meant “variant sudoku” instead of “non-sudoku”.

Many thanks for a three digit solution code. I wish that was the standard for all constructors!

All my votes are yes. Yes for sudoku, for niceness, and for approachable.

Nice puzzle.
Since it follows classic sudoku rules plus some bonus constraints I would be inclined to call it a variant sudoku as opposed to a non-sudoku.

Why is this called a "non-sudoku"?
Standard sudoku rules clearly apply and are required to solve it.
