Sudoku Variants Series (439) - Top Heavy Parity

(Published yesterday, 06:00 by Richard)

For this Sudoku Variants Project I have planned to publish a unique Sudoku variant every week.
I will see how long it takes before I am running out of ideas.

Top Heavy Parity
Apply classic sudoku rules.
When two digits of the same parity (odd or even) are placed directly above each other, the larger digit must be on top.

Inspiration for this type comes from glum_hippo (DSM2022).

Solve online in Sudokupad.

Solution code: Column 5.

This is a fun one! The rule adds a really neat layer of logic to the puzzle. It felt like solving a regular sudoku while also playing a game of Tetris with odd and even numbers.
Took me a little while to get through it, but the payoff was great. Thanks for the awesome puzzle!
