Logic Masters Deutschland e.V.

This puzzle was created for round 1 of Agent's Puzzle Agency Contest (PAC) held in the Sudoku Skunkworks Discord server. In this round, participants were tasked with creating a puzzle that uses knapp daneben (off-by-one) as part of the rule set. I had toyed around with the idea of moveable clues in the past, and decided that this would be a good opportunity to implement it as a different interpretation of knapp daneben.

Rules:

1. Draw a non-intersecting, non-branching loop through the centers of some orthogonally connected cells.
2. Castle wall: Numbered clues indicate the amount of times the loop crosses a cell border in the direction of the arrow. Clues in white cells must be inside the loop, and clues in black cells must be outside the loop. Clues in gray cells may be on either side of the loop. The loop may not be drawn through castle wall clues.
• Knapp-Daneben effect: All castle wall clues are given off-by-one (ie, one too large or one too small).
3. Masyu: The loop must turn on black circles and travel straight through the cells on either side. The loop must go straight through white circles and turn in at least one of the cells on either side.
• Knapp-Daneben effect: Each gray masyu circle must be moved to one of its (up to 4) orthogonally neighboring cells. A gray circle becomes white if it is moved horizontally or black if it is moved vertically. No two gray circles may move to the same cell, though one gray circle may move to the original position of another gray circle. The loop must pass through the final (black or white) location of every circle, but not necessarily the original (gray) location.
