A (sling)Shot in the Dark [Fog]

This puzzle was set in 2023 for a zetamath setting challenge and subsequently featured on CTC but was otherwise unpublished.
Rules: Normal sudoku rules apply. The grid is partially covered in fog. Placing correct digits reveals clues in the surrounding 3x3 area.
Slingshot: If a bent arrow is present in a cell, the digit in the cell the arrow comes from appears in the grid in the direction of the arrow at a distance of N cells, where N is the digit in the arrow’s cell. See example below.
German Whispers: Adjacent digits along a green line differ by at least 5.

I usually despise fog puzzles, but something about this made me want to try it anyway, and I'm glad that I did. I enjoyed it greatly.
