Line Em Up

(Published on 7. August 2025, 11:51 by TerrierDarts)

Normal Sudoku Rules Apply

White Kropki – Standard white dots: the two digits between a white dot are consecutive. Not all white dots are given.

Black Kropki Lines – When there's a black line instead of a dot, the two digits on either side form a standard black Kropki pair (one is double the other).

Digits Do Not Repeat On Lines

Other Black Dot Pairs may appear.

Additional Note: With the black‑line pair, the easiest way to determine the digits is to imagine folding the shape on the dot so that the cells that touch are the pair.

Very fun solve, thank you!

For the wording, maybe something like:

"The black lines are symmetrical across a black dot. A digit on a black line has a 2:1 relationship with the digit in the same position on the opposite side of the line."

Please read the Additional Note: Regarding the Black Lines, Im also happy to hear how you would word them.

"When there's a black line instead of a dot, the two digits on either side form a standard black Kropki pair (one is double the other)."

But the black lines are in the middle of the squares, not the edge...so how can you have a digit either side of the line?
Unless you mean the digit on the line itself is irrelevant, and it's the ones slightly further out that are the doubled ones? e.g. r8c7 and r8c9 are the 'kropki numbers', and r8c8 (the number on the line) could be anything?

I did struggle with the wording but I would read the additional note: R8C8 pairs with R5C8
