Prime Killers

(Published on 22. July 2025, 22:29 by DylanRay)

This is the first puzzle I'm publishing. Comments and feedback are welcome and appreciated. Hope you enjoy it!

- Normal Sudoku rules apply: place the digits 1-9 in each row, column, and 3x3 box.

- Prime Killer Cages: Digits in cages cannot repeat and must sum to the number in the top left corner (if any). The sum of each cage must be a prime number (1 is not a prime number). No two cages may share the same sum.

- Quadruples: Digits in a Quadruple circle must be placed at least once in the four cells touching that circle. Digits that appear twice in circles must be placed twice in the cells touching that circle.

- Kropki Pairs: Digits separated by a white dot must be consecutive.

(Note. Even if you remove the given sum "13" at R4C1 and the white dot between R5C1–R5C2, the puzzle still has a unique solution; yet including these two clues helps simplify the solving process)

reasonably easy WITH the extra clue. PRACTICALLY impossible without. only ONE of the two clues is needed.

note: there are rather less prime numbers in the sudoku cage range than seems "obvious"

Really nice puzzle. Excellent debut. Took me way longer than a 1*. I would say this is a high 2 or maybe even a 3. I usually can't do 3* puzzles. I got this one, but it took me a long while. But the solve path was entertaining enough to stick with it.

Took me longer than I care to admit. I think I should have focussed more on the primes right from the beginning. Apart from that very enjoyable!
