Play in Sudokupad
Normal sudoku rules apply.
Orthoganally connected cells may not contain consecutive digits.
Limitations: Digits may not repeat in any cages or on same colored lines (rules 1-3 below).
1. Digits in a cage sum to the given value.
2. Box borders divide a blue region sum line into segments. Digits along one segment sum to the same value as the other segment. Different lines may have different segment values.
3. Adjacent digits on a green German Whisper line have a difference of five or more. Fog covers some of the grid.
Placing a correct digit may clear fog somewhere in the grid.
Solution code: Row 9

This one took me a while, and some really dumb moments to finally figure it out!! I haven’t done a lot of German whisper lines, so once I looked up some strategies and tips for solving German whisper lines, I was able to find the logic. Great puzzle!!

Bro, I looked at this puzzle for like 45 minutes before my brother told me how dumb I was thinking it was a 4 cage not a 5 cage. Major brain malfunction haha. Thanks for replying to my comment.

I don't understand how it's possible to get the first digit. Multiple sum 16, 4 box combos seem to work. I have a couple likely numbers for the middle box in box one but nothing definitive
--I hope the cages are visible in the cleared cells. The cage includes five cells that sum to 16, and consecutive digits cannot touch each other orthoganally (dominos).

a fine puzzle !
for a time, i thought that this was intractable, or needed serious bifurcation, but then i checked the map and realized, all i had to do is:
SEARCH IN BOX 3 when the thrush knocks, and the setting sun with the last light of Durin’s Day will shine upon the key

A few stages of the solve were a little on the grindy side, but, overall, I really enjoyed this one. Thanks so much for sharing.
