A disconcerting number of legs

I was playing around with thermos and palindromes and ended up with this insecty-looking thing. Have fun!
Normal sudoku rules apply: fill the grid with digits 1-9 so that none repeat within a row, column or box.
PALINDROME (thin grey lines): Digits along a palindrome line must read the same forwards and backwards. (Note: the palindrome starting at Row 4 Column 1 ends on Row 3 Column 7.)
THERMO: Digits along a thermometer must increase from the bulb to the tip
