A Real Stalemate

Normal sudoku rules apply.
Hidden under the fog lies a path, spanning from R1C1 to R9C9, that visits each box of the sudoku once and traverses them in a snake-like shape (box 1-2-3-6-5-4-7-8-9).
Placing correct digits in the puzzle may or may not reveal additional information hidden under the fog (dynamic fog).
The path is a standard Region Sum line wherein 3x3 box borders divides it into segments with the same sum.
Cells with chess pieces contain digits that represent how many cells of the path are seen by said chess piece from its vantage point.
Kings: 1 cell in every direction, Queens: vertically, horizontally, and diagonally, Bishops: diagonally, Knights: standard L-shapes, Rooks: vertically and horizontally, and Pawns: 1 cell vertically.

@DiMono the path may move orthogonally or diagonally, can touch itself and is drawn under the fog as a blue line, so it cannot go through revealed cells with no visible line going through them

It feels like more information is needed about the path. Does it move only orthogonally? Can it move diagonally? Is it allowed to touch itself? Is it allowed to go through squares with chess pieces?

Very good puzzle, there was some pieces that I've found difficult to recognize at first glance, and the scanning was tedious at times but otherwise the puzzle was very fun and had some interesting logic.
The only practical feedback I can give is maybe to add the first letter of the pieces on the upper left corner.

Why the pawns are changed into bishops in the sudokupad link? i.e. R3C3, R2C5 and R1C7 are bishops in the sudokupad instead of pawns.
