Untitled Killer

(Published on 9. June 2025, 15:00 by Neb)

  • Normal sudoku rules apply: Place the digits 1 to 9 once each in every row, column, and 3x3 box.
  • Unique Killer Cages: Within a cage, digits don't repeat and they must sum to the small number written in the top left of that cage. Additionally no digit may be used more than once among all the cages of the same sum, even if that sum is not explicitly given.

Solution code: Row 9, left to right

Honestly a wonderful puzzle, with very satisfying deductions throughout. Loved the interactions between the cages. One of my favourites for sure!

Thank you all so much for the kind words. Finishing setting it felt great, seeing it's appreciated is also great.

I certainly hope to be able to make a couple more of these types of puzzles. I love the logic, coming up with new ways to apply it will be the difficult part.

Really lovely, my favourite step was probably the disambiguation between two 4-cell cages that will remain unnamed

I love this series of puzzles by Neb and I hope it continues. Another amazing use of the unique constraint that results in beautiful deductions all the way through.

That was very very nice. It took me also way too long :). I started with the wrong ruleset in my head 'no cage can have the same sum'.

Really enjoyed solving this one. A nice solve path, and a fun novel rule. Thanks for creating it!

Beautiful puzzle with a nice, mostly linear solve path. Really fun to solve, every revelation felt satisfying and well-earned but fair.
