Killer Cages – Digits in cages do not repeat and sum to the value in the top left cell of the cage.
XV – Digits separated by an X sum to 10. Digits separated by a V sum to 5. All XV clues are given.
Commentary Corner: Inspired by and an appreciation for Florian Wortmann’s Colorado Series (I am from Utah and love the Mountain West!), I created this puzzle. I wanted as few XV clues as possible, and I wanted to force the disambiguation around box 5. HOWEVER… I soon realized that I only created a hybrid of two distinct puzzles. The 1st puzzle type is where “ALL XV clues are given” but there are no XV clues in the grid. That puzzle type has been done many times and usually has roping or other similar patterns. The 2nd puzzle type is truly a coloring puzzle. Anyway… long story short (too late) here is a hybrid. The fun is in the break-in. After that, it is just plug and play.
