Red Diamonds

(Published on 23. May 2025, 20:15 by palpot)

This puzzle was created for Scojo's weekly setting prompt, which challenged setters to build around a single color—mine is themed on red.
I’ve incorporated the Parity Poopers rule, inspired by this brilliant puzzle by aleph-0
Special thanks to Flinty for test-solving and refining the puzzle’s aesthetics.
I hope you enjoy the solve!

Rules:

Normal sudoku rules: Place the digits 1 to 9 in each Row, Column, and 3X3 box.

Parity Line: Adjacent digits along the red line have a different odd/even parity.

Parity Poopers: Digit N in a red diamond indicate that there are exactly N-1 digits of opposite parity (odd/even) in the (up to) 8 surrounding cells.

Little killer: Clues outside the grid give the sum of the digits along the indicated diagonal.
