Previous Dutch Flat Mate Puzzles
This has been a weekly series since '18 Oct 23'. Here is a spreadsheet link for all the previous puzzles in the series, which also has a few teasers for upcoming constraints/guest setters in the series (subject to change).
This alternative link offers a limited LMD search for Dutch Flat Mates.

Initial Setter Difficulty: 2-2.5 / 5
Normal Sudoku rules apply
Place the digits 1-9 so that they do not repeat in any row, column, or 3x3 box.
Dutch Flats
Every 5 in the grid must have a '1' directly above it or a '9' directly below it. It may have both, but it doesn't need both.
Magnets
A magnet is a three cell long straight line (orthogonal or diagonal) consisting of a high pole, a low pole, and a central cell marked by a magnet symbol. A high pole must contain a digit from 6-9, A low pole must contain a digit from 1-4, and the central cell may contain any digit. Poles of the same type may not touch each other, even diagonally, but poles of opposite types may. Different magnets may not cross each other or share cells. The three digits on a magnet must sum to the small number in the corner of its central cell and may repeat if allowed by other rules.
Hint to start
As a Magnet must have both a low digit and a high digit, the sums are a lot more limited than first appears, especially forcing in Box 5. Don't forget that poles of the same type may not touch each other... and flat mates - haha.
Special Thanks
This is a constraint that Scojo used for Mind Over Magnet, and was created for a discord prompt from juggler over 6 months ago. The Flat Mate version was created soon after, and has had to wait patiently in the draft queue until now.
That 'Mind Over Magnet' link also contains a 4x4 version that is well worth checking out if you are unfamiliar with the rules.
Next Week
Next week is a genuine first, a puzzle from a guest that I will not have seen and tested in advance! It's my birthday next week, and I am being treated to a surprise from none other than Marty Sears!
Solution code: Digits in Row 1 (left to right)

Thanks for the "hint" - I didn't need it for the magnets but for the flatmates - I totally forgot about them and was wondering why I couldn't see the next step, hahaha. XD
Wonderful puzzle!

This was a fun new constraint for me! It is a bit hard to see pencil marks on top of the magnet graphic. Maybe come up with a different notation?

I always look forward to the weekly DFM puzzles, and this was perhaps even more excellent than usual. What a delightful puzzle and constraint.
