6x6 Long Knights Kropki

Normal 6x6 sudoku rules apply. Place the digits 1 - 6 once in every row, column and bold outlined box.

Digits separated by a Long Knights move (3 squares horizontally and 1 square vertically, or 3 squares vertically and 1 square horizontally) cannot contain the same digit.

Digits separated by a white dot are consecutive. Digits separated by a black dot are in a 2 to 1 ratio.

Digits in the cage add up to total shown.

Hint from the author: I know that a lot of people will struggle with this puzzle so I have included a hint below in white text. Please try the puzzle, and if you cannot solve it then you can highlight the area below to see the logical break-in.

Here is the logic for the break-in.

The Long Knights move restricts where digits in column 2 can be placed in column 5.

Place a digit X in R1C2.

X must then go into R2C4 or R2C6 by sudoku and the Long Knights constraint.

X must also go in R3C1 or R3C3 by sudoku and the Long Knights constraint.

But those squares are also a Long Knights move apart (R2C4/R3C1 or R2C6/R3C3). This means that X must be in either R2C4 and R3C3 or R2C6 and R3C1.

Both of these options prevent X from being placed in R4C4 and R4C6 (by a Long Knights move and normal sudoku).

This means that X must always be placed in R4C5. Therefore R1C2 and R4C5 are the same digit.

Repeat this same logic for R1C5. R6C2 and R6C5 and you will see how columns 2 and 5 are related to each other and how the Kropki dots impact each other.
