Herugolf Sudoku
(Published on 5. May 2025, 12:00 by Oripy)
This puzzle was the last puzzle of last year's OUCH! Series presented on CTC server. It's maybe the weirdest of all.
Rules:
- Place the digits 0-8 exactly once in every row, column, and 3x3 box.
- Herugolf: Trace the path of a golf ball from a circle (the tee) to a caged cell (the hole). The ball moves in a straight line for the number of cells corresponding to the digit at the beginning of the move. Each starting position (circle) and each stop on the path (including the last stop on the caged cell) contains the value of the next available move, i.e., the digits consecutively decrease, and each move is one shorter than the previous.
Paths may not cross themselves, each other, other circles, or other circles’ starting points. They also may not pass over a caged cell without stopping on it.
Example:
Solve the example here:
Penpa+ (in Penpa+, holes are cages without the letter H) or

The puzzle:
Solution code: Every ball (circled) values from left to right and top to bottom. Would be "32" for the example puzzle.
