A deconstruction puzzle has been in my idea pile for quite some time, and here we go!
Shadow Self by
ChinStrap was how I decided to use the non-region cells rule, which was the final nail in the coffin to get this puzzle done. It's brilliant, give it a solve if you enjoy this! Special thanks to
fahmisack and
Jasura for their help in constructing. The previous puzzle in the series:
Equality Cages 140: Cold Arrows
All my series:
Equality Cages
EquaLite Cages
Shifter Lines
Shifter Dots
Rules:
Deconstruction: Place 9 non-overlapping 3x3 boxes in the grid. Fill each cell in a box with a digit from 1-9 such that digits don't repeat in rows, columns or boxes.
Non-region cells: Non-region cells are empty but for clue purposes have an "invisible digit" equal to either their row or column number (up to 9). Invisible digits may repeat in rows and columns.
Equality cages: Cages must have an equal number of low (1,2,3,4) and high (6,7,8,9) digits AND an equal number of even (2,4,6,8) and odd (1,3,7,9) digits. Equality cages can never contain 5. Digits (invisible or not) may not repeat in a cage.
Kropki dots: A black dot between cells indicates cell values with a 2:1 ratio. A white dot between cells indicates cells with consecutive values. Not all dots are shown.
XV: Adjacent cells connected with an X must sum to 10. Adjacent cells connected with a V must sum to 5. Not all X's or V's are shown.
For the solution check to work all non-region cells need to be empty!

I'm glad i kept at this! A little brain-melty to start, but all the deductions felt fair and achievable, and thank you for a very fun puzzle!

Tricky, missed an option early on so had to reverse quite a bit. Then tried to be very meticulous with potential options and it was a very enjoyable solve. Thanks!
