Circle Sums

(Eingestellt am 26. April 2025, 14:58 Uhr von RockyRoer)

I'm not exactly sure how to categorize this puzzle -- it's kinda as if Kakuro, Sudoku, Akari, Doppleblock and Kuromasu all got together and had a baby. I hope that it's fun, and I'd love to see others, so maybe someone else will make one in the future :-)

The Rules

In every row and column, circle two unshaded cells, so that no circled cells see each other horizontally or vertically (shaded cells block the line of sight). Fill the remaining cells with the digits 1-6, so that no digits repeat in any row or column.

A circled cell has a value equal to the sum of all the numbers in all other cells it can see horizontally and vertically, where shaded cells block the line of sight. Clues outside the grid represents the value of one or more of the circles in that row or column.

The Puzzle: Try it using Sven's Sudokupad.

Lösungscode: The contents of column 6 from top to bottom, with . in the place where any shaded or circled cells belong.

I got confused about the last sentence of the ruleset. Now it’s clear: a clue outside the grid represents the value of one of the circles in that row or column - or of both if they have the same value. (I first thought that such a clue could also represent the SUM of the two circles‘ values…)
After all it was a nice struggle to find my way through. Thank you very much for creating this new puzzle genre and sharing it.
