I recommend first playing Heated Windows by cirne, which is an introduction / tutorial for this ruleset.

This puzzle is a spiritual successor to my Extended-Release Pyretic (though the rules are quite different).

Rules
  • Standard 8x8 sudoku rules apply: The digits 1 through 8 appear in every row, column, and 2x4 box. Most clues are standard except for the underlined rule.
  • Slow Thermometers: Digits along a thermometer can repeat but cannot decrease as you move from bulb to tip. Thermometers can cross but cannot branch or share cells
  • Cages: Digits in cages cannot repeat.
  • Length Cages: Each thermometer bulb is in a cage and each cage has exactly one thermometer bulb. The length of each thermometer is equal to the sum of digits in its cage.
  • Fog: Most of the grid is covered with frost. Completely filling out a thermometer and its cage will melt the frost from that thermometer and area around it, revealing additional clues.

    All digits can be deduced logically and no guessing is required.

Ooo, this was cool. Some of the logic in here was really interesting and I loved how some parts of it resolved. Fun puzzle, thanks.
