Foggy Regional Constraints

(Published on 11. April 2025, 21:08 by Belamis)

Sudoku: Normal Sudoku rules apply.

Dynamic Fog: The grid is partially covered in dynamic fog. Correctly placed digits may remove fog from other cells.

German Whispers: Along green lines, digits must differ from their neighbors by at least 5.

Killer: Digits do not repeat in cages, and sum to the small clue in the top left corner if given.

Renban: Purple lines contain a non-repeating set of consecutive digits in any order.

Parity: Along a peach line, adjacent digits must alternate between odd and even.

Kropki: Digits in cells separated by a black dot have a 1:2 ratio.

Constraint Regions: Each constraint type may contain no repeated digits anywhere in the puzzle. E.g. ALL renban cells must contain no repeated digits, ALL cells connected by a kropki dot must contain no repeated digits etc.

Great puzzle. Would be a lot easier for me if you used red for the parity line instead of peach. I got stuck thinking those were entropic lines.

The last clue made me smile! Very nice puzzle!

Such a great puzzle! Great mix of figuring out clues and doing actual Sudoku. The last clue was definitely the cherry on the cake and made me laugh! :D

Oh that's so cool. Really adds an extra layer to the usual rules, lots of fun to solve. The very last clue revealed was a great way to finish it off, too - nearly laughed when it showed up!

I really enjoyed your standard regional constraint puzzle. So I knew I had to try the foggy version as soon as I saw it. Thanks for the fun puzzle!

What a beautiful puzzle! You have expanded on this new approach to a ruleset and somehow, so quickly, made it even more beautiful and fluid! Amazing. Thank you!

That is the best FOW puzzle I ever solved! Very clever and elegant. Thank you. :-)

Love it, very clever.

What an absolute gem of a puzzle!

I usually don't like it when the fog *may* disappear but in this one it was so clearly part of the story telling that it made complete sense.

Amazing! I give 3* of difficulty for those people who didn’t solve your first puzzle with the same ruleset (without the fog). Thank you very much for creating and sharing both.

Took me longer than it should have to find the break in. Every time I got stuck, some nice bit of logic carried me through. Great puzzle.

Really smooth little brain teaser

Simply beautiful! I loved that finale. The constraint extra-regions are such a fun variant and the execution with the fog was perfect. Thank you for this gem, Belamis!

Such a unique rule! Very fun puzzle, thank you.

beautiful puzzle, lovely logic and as gdc mentioned great use of the dynamic fog constraint :)

on 11. April 2025, 23:05 by gdc
always like if constructors use dynamic fog for something that would never be possible without it and this is a good example of that. Thanks for setting!

I didn't find this one particularly hard since the signaling with the few revealed clues was excellent. 2 stars at most.
