Sudoku Variants Series (417) - Sum or Product Killer

(Published on 28. March 2025, 12:00 by Richard)

For this Sudoku Variants Project I have planned to publish a unique Sudoku variant every week. I will see how long it takes before I am running out of ideas.

Logic solvable
Like all of my sudoku variants, this puzzle can be solved by logic alone. Guessing is not required and also no sophisticated solving techniques are necessary; just plain and easy sudoku steps and of course the intrinsic logic this specific variant has to offer. In case you don't find that logic or get stuck, feel free to ask for a hint in the comments below this puzzle and I'll be happy to help you.

Sum or Product Killer
Apply classic sudoku rules.
The small numbers in the upper left corner of each cage (dotted outlined region) indicate either the sum or the product of all the digits in that cage.

Inspiration for this type comes from udukos and ul-Rhymm.

Solve online in Penpa+ or in Sudokupad.

Solution code: Column 4

I found it delightful. Thank you Richard! Probably only my second time as the first SVS solver. (and the first time was when I acted as a tester!)
