Modifier cell puzzles typically involve grids which would have 0 solutions without the addition of the modifiers.
This puzzle would instead have several solutions without the addition of modifiers.
The addition of Doublers to the ruleset gives this puzzle a unique solution.
The idea for this puzzle was inspired by a conversation with Walluigi wherein they suggested that using modifiers to achieve uniqueness would be an interesting twist.
Rules:
- Normal Sudoku rules apply
- Doublers:
One cell in each row, column, and box is a doubler.
The value of a doubler is twice its digit.
Each digit from 1 to 9 occurs once in a doubler. - Thermometers:
Values along a thermometer strictly increase from the bulb to the tip.
