Visible Chaos

(Published on 12. March 2025, 19:15 by Belamis)

Chaos Construction: Divide the grid into regions, each consisting of nine orthogonally connected cells. Each row, column and region contain the digits 1-9 once each.

Thermo: Digits along a thermometer must increase from the bulb to the tip.

A digit on an arrow shows the number of different regions in the indicated direction, excluding the region containing the arrow.

Nice one, thanks. Tricky at the end finalising those regions, and I was quite bamboozled at the start, couldn't get my head round the "excluding..." bit.

Wow, I've restarted this 4 times and keep breaking it at the same spot. Must be a nasty trap I keep falling into.

Ah yea it is a bit tricky - I definitely made some mistakes initially when setting it. The most likely reason is that an arrow can see the same region twice and it only counts as 1, e.g. a region could loop around another one. Good luck :)

Wow, spectacular logical flow! The construction certainly threw me for a loop a few times, but it was very cleverly done!

Beautiful and fun puzzle with some devious traps, which fooled me! Thank you

Fun puzzle, with some tricky region-building esp towards the endgame. Thanks for sharing, @ Belamis :).

Awesome. Very smooth. Had some trouble finding the regions near the end. There it was 4* for sure. Great fun puzzle thx.
