About five

(Published on 11. March 2025, 18:57 by Adrian71)

- Normal Sudoku rules apply
- The six gold lines all have a different property, from the following set:
   a. German whisper line
   b. Renban line
   c. Ten line
   d. Region sum line
   e. Line containing only middle digits (4, 5 or 6)
   f. Line containing only digits divisible by 3
- Every gold line has only one of the mentioned properties
- On every gold line, the digits sum to an integer multiple of 5
- Digits separated by a V sum to 5. All V's are given

For definitions see below

Definitions:
German whisper line: neighbouring digits differ by at least 5
Renban line: contains a set of nonrepeating consecutive digits in any order
Ten line: line can be broken into one or more non-overlapping contiguous groups of digits that sum to ten
Region sum line: box borders divide the line in segments. The sum of the digits in a segment is the same for all segments

The earlier published version of this puzzle contained an annoying error. Huge thanks to Piff for spotting and reporting the error!
The puzzle below is the corrected version. It is very similar in concept to the original puzzle, the alterations make it quite a bit more approachable in my opinion. My apologies to all solvers for the earlier error.

This was excellent and fun to solve! The "All V's are given" rule is essential and leads to some of the most interesting logic in the puzzle.

Thank you for the kind words :) I also really like the logic following from negative constrains on V's and X's, both in solving and in setting!

Thx. A very enjoyable sudoku, in hindsight I should have used the letters to denote each line once found to make it a faster solve so that's something I learnt :)

did not need the (All the V's are given) rule. the line on box 1 was tricky it makes it almost a 4 star difficulty
