Entropic Tens

(Published on 12. March 2025, 00:04 by ebiggie)

RULE SET:

Normal Sudoku rules apply. Place the digits 1 through 9 in each row, column, and box.

Entropic Lines: (GREY): Any set of three sequential cells along a grey line must contain a low digit (1,2,3), middle digit (4,5,6) and high digit (7,8,9).

10-Lines: (WHITE outlined in BLACK): Each 10-Line consists of one or more contiguous groups of cells, each of which sums to 10. These groups of cells cannot overlap; every cell is part of exactly one group. Digits may repeat freely on lines and even within sums if other rules allow.

For our color blind friends:

Entropic lines are thick, and the 10-lines are thin. There are areas where the lines do overlap.

moving from 3* to 4*. I guess this one is really more difficult than I originally thought.

This was a very nice puzzle, but I found it very hard, even after the initial break-in. The puzzle kept resisting and the disambiguating between the various options was a really long look-ahead for me. I could not see the pretty solvepath. Thank you!

Big Thanks Snookerfan! I appreciate your feedback. Yeah, initially I didn't think this one was such a tough solvepath. I was indeed aiming to have at least two to three medium disambiguations instead of just a break-in and then an easy solve the rest of way. It definitely appears it didn't flow as well as I though it would. Big Thanks again :)
