Big Bad Wolf

(Published on 10. April 2025, 14:24 by IcyFruit)

Divide the grid into orthogonally connected regions. Place a digit from 1-9 in every cell such that each digit appears exactly once in every row, column, and region.

Region boundaries divide the line into segments. The digit in the Nth cell of a segment indicates the position of the digit N on that segment. Positions are counted starting from 1 at an end of the segment which much be determined. Different segments may count in different directions relative to the line.

What an elegant puzzle! Liked every moment of solving it. Its mesmerizing how it all disambiguates itself given the minimalistic setting. And what a natural flow! But of course, nobody expected anything else from the best. Take a bow, IcyFruit!

That was epic! Took me almost an hour to understand the many constraints that the index line segments put on the chaos construction.
