Graded on a Curve (with sujoyku)

(Published on 7. March 2025, 19:24 by ChinStrap)

Back again with another sujoyku collab. We continued exploring interactions of index lines with other constraints, and as always found there were interesting things to be had. Thanks to all who tested and we hope you enjoy!

Rules:

  • Normal sudoku rules apply, i.e. each row, column and 3x3 region has to contain the digits from 1 to 9 once each.
  • Index Lines: Each turquoise line is an Index Line, i.e. the digit in the Nth cell along such a line (starting from the diamond) indicates the position along the line where the digit N appears. For example, if a diamond cell contains a 3, the third cell along that line must have a 1.
  • Nabner Lines: The yellow lines are Nabner Lines, i.e. on such a line there may not be consecutive or repeated digits. For example, if a 5 lies on a Nabner line, this line may not contain another 5 and neither a 4 nor a 6.

All feedback (positive or critical) appreciated!

Solution code: Row 5 from left to right (9 digits in total)

Very enjoyable! I forgot how to use nabner lines for a third of the puzzle, but still fun. Lots of little eureka moments.

Wow, another blast granted by the sudoku dream team... I usually avoid nabner puzzles but this combination with index lines is 100% worth trying. Thank you guys for this treasure! <3

Another lovely one! I'm not always a fan of curved lines when they cause the grid to look more messy and unclear than if straight lines are used. But this was an absolutely perfect use of curves... crisp, clear, beautiful!
