Lore (you may skip below the image if you are looking for the rules):
There is a most vile murder case in a small village, and you have been assigned to investigate that case, detective. Your mission is to find the killer. However, it's been long known that some people in this village have ties with the mafia, and may attempt to frame other villagers to hide their crimes. Therefore, you have to take extra caution to make sure you are able to separate the innocent from the guilty, and bring justice to the murderer and their accomplices. Good Luck!
You can find CTC's Simon's solve of this puzzle hereThis puzzle is part of a series called "Lost and Found" in which modifications to the killer variant will be explored in the context of a detective training lore. You can find links for the rest of series below;
Rules:
Normal Sudoku rules apply: Place the digits 1-9 in every row, column and 3x3 box once each.
Kropki: Digits separated by a white dot must be consecutive.
Ambiguous Cages: There are 4 types of cages in this puzzle all of which appear at least once. Digits in a cage, regardless of its type, can't repeat. Which cage is which type must be deduced by the solver. The colors of the cages have nothing to do with their type, the purpose of this coloring is explained in the fog section.
Solution code: Digits in the killer cage from lowest to highest, followed by column 1.

Found this on CTC youtube chanel and tried it for myself without checking it out here... Now I understand why it was so difficult!
It was very fun and original, I really struggled in the middle until founding killer cage, then it went pretty smoothly, thank you so much for submitting!

Well done getting Simon to solve this. As I said earlier, very nice logic throughout. Now if Simon might do a little sudoku.
