The Rules:
• Normal Sudoku Rules Apply
• Digits along a thermometer must increase from the bulb end
• The digits in a cage must sum to the number printed in its corner, if given. Digits may not repeat within a cage.
• Shade some cells such that the shaded cells and the unshaded cells each form a single orthogonally-connected region. No 2x2 area can be completely shaded or unshaded (Yin-Yang rules)
• Even number digits in a cage are always shaded, odd digits are always unshaded
• Odd number digits on a thermometer are always shaded, even digits are always unshaded

Hallo, leider bin ich noch sehr schlecht in Yin-Yang, aber ich habe mich durchgekämpft. Kannst du mir den Simon-Witz erklären? Die Videos sind ja leider nur auf englisch... Mir hat das Rätsel trotzdem sehr gut gefallen, und ich hoffe, ich lerne dazu.
--- Hi Katchoo, I'm glad you got through it. On the YouTube channel "Cracking The Cryptic", Simon always uses this pattern as an example of how Ying-Yang could work. I did this puzzle as a joke and submitted it - but then Mark ended up solving it instead of Simon! You can watch the video here:

This is hilarious! It's a great puzzle on its own, very smooth solution path - and the 'Simon Pattern' is a perfectly executed surprise. Absolutely wonderful.
