Whispering Vortex

Another puzzle I created with my son Till. He wanted the lines to be fully symmetrical in the given manner. I fought hard for the puzzle to result in a fluent fun 1-2 star puzzle. What do you think?
Rules:
Standard sudoku rules apply: The digits 1 through 9 appear in every row, column, and box.
Adjacent digits along a German Whispers line must differ by at least five.
Cells separated a V must sum to 5. Not all Vs are necessarily given.
Solution code: Row 4 left to right.

This is a beautiful puzzle! It took me a bit to get a feel for how the whispers interacted, then everything flowed naturally through the end of the puzzle. Nicely done :)
