a cold-blooded devil
never leaving floor-level

the scorpion struggles to make any friends
it's what the frog found
before they both drowned
but there's also the tale of the Monk who ascends.

Ugly breeds ugly, breeds uglier still
one's nature to strike, go in for the kill
but sting the Monk's hand
then sting it again and
it's in HIS nature to care, so he will.

With hand outstretched and love to sow
in head and heart, it's ours to know
nature will abound
sea, sky, ground
mere differing afflictions of vertigo.
