This puzzle uses the Octopus Rules from The Pedalling Pianist together with Region Sum Lines. Thanks to all the testers!

  • Irregular Sudoku rules apply.
  • Asymmetric Region Sum Octopus
    • Draw 4 lines that must not cross or overlap anywhere except R4C4, where they all intersect.
    • All lines pass through R4C4 in a straight line. Each line contains exactly 2 cells on the edge of the grid where it starts and ends.
    • The 4 lines are independent region sum lines. Region borders divide them into segments with equal sums.
  • Cells with ♯ symbols count as one more than their digit for region sum lines. Cells with ♯♯ count as two more and cells with ♭ count as one less.

Excellent puzzle! Though I found it rather tricky to narrow down certain options towards the lower right.

I'm laughing imagining if I met someone who had only ever solved traditional Sudoku, and I tried to tell them about this Asymmetric Region Sum Octopus 7x7 Irregular Sudoku.

My first attempt fell flat, but I noticed my silly error and was sharp enough to solve second time round!
