Christmas Wreath (Holiday Special Edition)
(Published on 23. March 2024, 08:30 by Playmaker6174)
Before continuing my bigger projects, I shall upload a fun accessible (while also nice looking) puzzle to everyone because well, a lot of people just love fun accessible puzzles for reasons, I guess. I know the holiday was already gone in like 3 months but I think this one will be a subtle refreshing breath before the chaos approaches x)
The following puzzle belongs to a part of my last year Secret Santa gift to a user on CTC Discord server known as
Dexter345. He mainly tackles on approachable and accessible puzzles with different genres, and so when I received a letter that I would be his secret santa, I knew what I got to do and eventually made a special pack for him (even with limited time).
I learned that this one was actually his most favorite of them overall - but all of the puzzles provided joys to him anyway - so I feel like I'd share it over here as well :)
(I mainly aimed to upload this one only but let me know if you want to try the entire pack, I can also try to upload them in the hidden comment of this post too, not like separate posts for the rest because well, I don't like to bombard the entire site)
In a sense, this one is also an application of
a particular result that was eventually showcased on a youtube channel named
Numberphile (I'm a pretty avid viewer of the channel by the way), so considering this as a 'follow-up' then x)
Rules:
- Normal Sudoku rules apply: every row, column and 3x3 box contains digits from 1 to 9 each once.
- Digits within a cage sum to the total written in that cage.
- Each set of three sequential cells along an orangey circle must contain one digit from set {1,2,3}, one digit from set {4,5,6} and one digit from set {7,8,9}.
- Two cells along a purple line contain consecutive digits to each other. Two cells along a green line contain digits with difference of at least 5.
Puzzle: F-puzzle -

Good luck and have fun solving!

Loved every minute of solving this. Never felt like it got above my level but never let me off the hook either.

The solution code, one character of which is already given, was particularly enticing!
Just kidding, I solved this because it looked extremely intriguing - and I was not disappointed! Thank you Plasmamaker! <3 4 stars difficulty for me because I had to stare at it for quite a while.

Thanks for an approachable hard puzzle if such a thing exists. Good intricacies in this one.
