- Es gelten die normalen Sudoku-Regeln.
- Killer-Käfige: Ziffern in einem Käfig ergeben in der Summe den oben links angegebenen Wert.
- Mehrdeutiges Battenburg: Markiere jede Zelle im Gitter mit einer von zwei verschiedenen Farben (z.B. rot und blau), sodass jede Ziffer immer in Zellen der gleichen Farbe vorkommt. (Ist z.B. eine 1 in einer roten Zelle, so müssen sich alle 1en in roten Zellen befinden.) In einem Killer-Käfig haben alle Zellen die gleiche Farbe (d.h. ein Käfig ist vollständig rot oder vollständig blau, besteht aber nicht aus roten und blauen Zellen). Wenn je 2 Ziffern beider Farben ein 2x2-Schachbrettmuster bilden, ist dies stets durch ein Battenburg-Symbol angezeigt. Ist kein solches Zeichen angegeben, darf das obige Muster nicht vorhanden sein.
