I like difficult puzzles a lot, but this is probably the last puzzle I solve that announces 'no bifurcation us necessary'

Great puzzle. I think not quite 5 star since it only took one really profound insight and then the rest solved with fairly straightforward logic, but I did have to break out the spreadsheets to get that crucial break.
