Deconstruct Your Sandwiches

(Published on 3. December 2023, 00:24 by Tacosian)

Rules
  • Normal sudoku deconstruction rules apply: fill the grid with nine non-overlapping 3x3 square regions, such that each region contains the digits 1-9 once each and no digit repeats in any row or column. Cells outside regions do not contain digits.
  • Normal sandwich rules apply: clues outside the grid give the sum of the digits between the 1 and 9 in their respective row/column.
Example

In this example image, there are 6 regions containing the digits 1-6, and the digit 6 is used as sandwich crust instead of 9.

Solution code: Column 10. If a cell does not contain a digit (i.e. it is not part of a sudoku region), type 'X' (uppercase). For example, the solution code for column 3 of the example would be X463215X.

You know how I called your Skyscraper Sums Deconstruction a "masterpiece"? Well this is somehow even better.

I genuinely do not know how it's less than 100% rating; personally I think this puzzle should be rated at least 105%, but such is the nature of life.

Really liked the break-in. There is no way this is a 4 difficulty puzzle though haha.
