Sphere of Influence

This is the first puzzle I have made after thinking of this rule set. I am interested to hear what people think. Feel free to let me know your thoughts. Have fun!
RULES:
- Normal sudoku rules apply.
- A CIRCLE clue indicates how many LOW digits (1-4) immediately surround the clue, including itself.
- A SQUARE indicates how many HIGH digits (5-9) immediately surround the clue, including itself.
- Squared and circled digits themselves are NOT necessarily high or low respectively.

This was fairly difficult for my skill level, but it was rather fun going back to work out where I went wrong every time.

What a fun puzzle! It may be helpful to specify that 'immediately surrounding' refers to the up to 9 cells in the 3x3 area centered on the clue, though I was able to infer the intention based on similar rule sets.
Regarding the puzzle itself, it flowed amazingly well once I got my head wrapped around the rules. Thanks for coming up with this rule set and setting such a great puzzle to showcase it!

Sorry just got around to seeing this, good suggestion. I noticed Simon actually edited the rules to include 3x3 clarification in today’s video.
