Line Challenge: Swirls
(Eingestellt am 25. November 2023, 09:00 Uhr von Playmaker6174)
The following puzzle of mine was based on a random mini-game that me and
Qodec played together for 'entertainment purposes'.
We randomly selected a set of eight distinct line constraints to set for a sudoku puzzle, then each banned one of them and with the remaining six, each would draft three of them turn-by-turn and finally, each would make a puzzle using those drafted three lines.
In the end, both of us actually finished the challenge and my result turned out to be
much easier than Qodec's one (though my lines combo was much harder to work on because of uniqueness problem). Originally I didn't really want to share it here because it's mostly a random event that was done for fun but based on certain feedback, I feel like this would be a refreshing change after the recent 'tidal wave' of my hard puzzles (also there shall be quite a huge project after this entry so I'm excited to see how it will go :-] ).
Difficulty may be around lower side of 3/5 in my opinion but I'll let everyone decide the proper rating for this!
(also the title is a small 'easter egg' too :-] )
Rules:
- Normal Sudoku rules apply: every row, column and 3x3 box contains digits from 1 to 9 each once.
- Digit[s] along the line that has two circles as its ends must lie between the digits in the circles, i.e. digit in one circle is greater than all digits along the line, while digit in other circle is smaller than all digits along the line.
- Along an orange line, two adjacent digits have difference of at least 4.
- Along a teal line, every pair of two adjacent digits must have the same difference and such difference will be filled into a given teal circle in the grid.
For this case, no two teal lines will have the same difference.

I found this puzzle to be a high 3* or a low 4* difficulty.

Really nice puzzle! I think 3* is an accurate rating
