Lobster Bisque (Chaos Construction)

(Eingestellt am 23. November 2023, 21:57 Uhr von Tacosian)

Rules
  • Divide the grid into regions, each consisting of nine orthogonally connected cells. Each row, column and region must contain the digits 1 to 9 once each.
  • Clues outside the grid show the sum of a string of digits starting X cells from the direction of the clue, where X is the first digit in that direction. All cells that are part of the sum (the "sum cells") must belong to the same region. The cells directly before and after the sum cells in the row/column of the clue must not belong to the same region as the sum cells, if they are part of the grid.
  • A question mark indicates that any nonzero sum is acceptable.

Started this on a plane ride home and finished it a month later on another plane. Amazing set and enjoyable solve. Thanks!

masterfully set, and not too hard! Surprising and smooth throughout. thank you very much.

BTW: solution codes are caps and space-independent. '1x2x3' and '1X 2 X3' both register as the same code.

Really enjoyed that, excellent setting yet again!

Oh my God. I can't believe I finally finished this puzzle. Holy crap, that was challenging, but satisfying. It's hard to believe there are only 81 squares here.

Anyway, amazing puzzle! Thanks so much :)

Yay,finished it ! I had to stare at the grid for quite some time before I understood clearly how to start this. Then it was very enjoyable solve, with fun logic throughout. Thanks :)

A stunning puzzle! Never easy, in fact very hard, but always giving something to go on. Had to keep staring at the grid trying to make out the way forward but after the break-in it can be quite smooth if one can hold of the logic. Thanks a lot for sharing. I think Simon would love solving it on CtC.
