Normal sudoku rules apply.
Shade some cells such that all shaded cells are orthogonally connected and all unshaded cells are orthogonally connected and no 2x2 area is fully shaded or unshaded.
Digits in caged cells indicate how many cells of the same color (shaded or unshaded) are seen orthogonally from that position, including itself. The "other" color blocks vision.
Digits on thermometers must increase from the bulb end.

Really adore this series, although this one was a bit trickier than the others, it was still very satisfying.

any yin-yang puzzle is automatically level 2. that is patently obvious. add in the sight line rules, and you are automatically at level 3.
and the only way to STAY at that level is if the puzzle is "easy" within that context.
this one is not.
whereas any of these yy puzzles typically requires a TRAINED "expert", this one requires a VETERAN expert, i.e. people without substantial yy experience cannot even get started.
specifically, you have to recognize that AT LEAST TWO of the grid edges must be solid one colour, and that is never mentioned in yy school, and can only be learned in the trenches, AND your intuition has to tell you that it's important, because rational analysis won't.
so it's a level 4 puzzle.
(and, of course, a MUST SOLVE for yy fans)
