Normal sudoku rules apply.
Digits on thermometers must increase from bulb to tip. Digits on the marked diagonals may not repeat. Digits in cages do not repeat and sum to the clue, if given.
Each cage is either full of "oil" (even digits), full of "water" (odd digits), or a mix of both. In all cases, each "row" within a cage is of just one type (oil or water). Oil floats on water, so even digits will always be in rows above odd digits in mixed cages.

Brilliant! Once that colouring got sorted it was very smooth. Weird way to think what threw me at the start but lovely once I switched my brain into the correct setting and started to ask the right questions.

This is my favourite puzzle in a long time, such an interesting mechanic and a really nice flow throughout the solve!

This is one of those puzzles that feels impossible until you figure out how to approach it, and then it flows really easily. Very nice.
