PUZZLE:

RULES:

Normal Sudoku rules apply.

Entropic (beige): Each set of three consecutive digits on an Entropic line must contain a low {1, 2 or 3}, medium {4, 5 or 6} and high digit {7, 8 or 9}.
Killer: Digits within a cage must sum to the number in the top left corner (if given).
Odd/Even: Digits within Square cells are Even.

MODIFIERS:

Entropy: Each 2x2 box must contain a low {1, 2 or 3}, medium {4, 5 or 6} and high digit {7, 8 or 9}.
Rotational Pairs: Every digit (except '5') has its value-mirrored digit placed 180° rotationally symmetrical to it as seen from the center of the grid (e.g. if '1' is placed in R6C4, then '9' is placed in R4C6; if '2' is placed in R1C3, then '8' is placed in R9C7; etc).

INTRODUCTION:

An updated version of a previous first venture into Rotational Pair and Entropy logic. Many thanks to sirxemic, Myxo and Mad-Tyas for the inspiration, guidance and testing.

The grid is technically solvable without the global Entropy constraint but it was built with it in mind; and so to prevent the puzzle from jumping from 2(ish) to 5(ish) stars for difficulty towards the end of your solve, it's been noted in the ruleset. Bonus points if you solve it the other way!

Here are some puzzles from other setters using using the same global "Entropy" constraint:
"Dear Entropy Lovers..." by Mad-Tyas
"Entropy RSL" by Mad-Tyas

Here are some puzzles from other setters using a similar "Rotational Pairs" constraint:
"Revolver" by Myxo
"Rotational Pairs" by sirxemic

Have fun!

Hey! I just wanted to comment, I solved your puzzle without the global entropy modifier, and I don't believe it makes it a 5 star. I'm not an expert solver, in fact I haven't been able to solve 4+ star puzzles yet, but I was able to solve this one without the extra rule help.

The end does get a bit more difficult, but there are some unavoidable logic steps that help with that last effort. I put it in the 3 star category myself.

Thanks for the setting! Were the dark green single squares just for decoration, or they meant to do something?

@aerenhart - Thanks for the feedback! I was exaggerating but yes, the intention of the puzzle was not necessarily to be the most challenging but to be a bit of an introduction to the logic involved. Well done on the solve! Some of the cages were aesthetic, which is why I have a link with them removed (I know people prefer less visual clutter); I tend to set puzzles with an aesthetic in mind and the beige lines and cages reminded me of an electrical box, for some reason -- VKP
