Seven Whispering Rivers

Rules:
- Normal Sudoku rules apply.
- Given digits are the source of a river of the given length. Blue cells are also the source of different rivers which length has to be determined by the solver.
- Rivers moves orthogonally, cannot cross nor branch nor overlap.
- Rivers of same length may not touch at an edge.
- All sources are given and all rivers must connect (orthogonally) into a single network.
- Rivers are german whisper lines : adjacent digits along the river must differ by 5 or more.
- Cells not traversed by a river are islands. The orange cell is part of an island.
- Islands are at least 2 cells in size.
- Neither Rivers nor Islands may form a 2x2.

Great puzzle. I was also a bit confused with the rules at first. I thought all the rivers had to converge at a the same point, then I realized that isn't possible. All in all, I don't mind having to work out the exact constraints, makes for an interesting solve. :)

Seems like a fun puzzle. A bit confused about the rules though. Must the network of rivers as a whole not branch nor form 2x2's or just individual rivers?

jcgodart : Individual rivers may not branch. But different rivers may touch anywhere, incl. several times in order to form a network. The no 2x2 rule is global, not only for individual rivers.
