The Electrified Trio

(Eingestellt am 26. August 2023, 09:15 Uhr von Playmaker6174)

Another puzzle of mine that follows from a long list of ideas that needed to be done. While the next edition of my previous BYOK is under some drafts, I decided to share this following puzzle first, which is an ambiguity puzzle with familiar lines and with some small twists.

This puzzle is inspired by my previous The Enigma Trio and also some bits from SSG's Amphiboly puzzle in the past, which I highly recommend to try. I hope you enjoy this one! :)

Rules:

- Normal Sudoku rules apply: every row, column and 3x3 box contains digits from 1 to 9 each once.

- For every gray line in the grid, consider each segment that lies entirely within a box one distinct group. The following properties must be satisfied:

1) Each group has to be at least one of three lines: renban line, german whisper line, entropic line, which needs to be deduced throughout.
+ Renban: Digits within a group form a set of consecutive digits in any order.
+ German whisper: Along a group, two adjacent cells contain digits that have difference of at least 5.
+ Entropic: For every group, every set of three sequential digits must contain one digit from set {1,2,3}, one digit from set {4,5,6} and one digit from set {7,8,9}. In case of a two cells group, those two cells contain digits from two different sets out of those three sets.

2) NO two 'adjacent' groups along a gray line contain the same type of line*.
For example, if R3C4+R3C5 is a renban then R4C2+R4C3 cannot be renban, i.e it has to be german whisper line or entropic line (or both if possible).

* Extra setter note: Again, it's possible that a group may belong to multiple types of line (for example, a 2 cells group that's german whisper line is also an entropic line in a sense). In that case, such group can be categorized as either types and property 2 will decide which type(s) such group will belong to.

3) For any gray line, two 'adjacent' groups have sums such that the difference of those two sums must be EXACTLY 1.
For example, if sum R3C4+R3C5 is 10, sum R4C5+R5C6 has to be 9 or 11 and the same for R4C2+R4C3...

Thanks y’all for the great feedback! It does appear to me that this puzzle has a consistent difficulty for most of the solve, but at least I tried to include some interesting parts into the solve as well :)

I would describe it as an approachable 5 maybe - difficult despite path telegraphing, very satisfying throughout.

Loved it! I found it challenging throughout but never got too stuck for too long - the solve path seemed clear enough but actually getting to the deductions was often harder!
