Meander (Slitherlink/Japanese sums sudoku)

(Eingestellt am 11. August 2023, 12:25 Uhr von dumediat)

This is a puzzle that I created for Ambrose's birthday, which they encouraged me to share with all of you. Ratings, comments, and feedback are much appreciated! Please feel free to reach out to me on Discord if you have any comments or questions. Please also feel free to try my other puzzles here.

Rules:

  1. Each row, column, and 3x3 box must contain the digits 0 to 8 exactly once each.
  2. Slitherlink: Normal slitherlink rules apply as follows:
    • Draw a single loop along the edges of some cells such that the loop does not branch or touch itself.
    • Digits in circles indicate the number of edges containing loop segments in that cell. ALL circles are given (ie, digits placed in cells without circles must NOT indicate the correct number of edges containing loop segments in that cell).
  3. Japanese sums: Modified Japanese sums rules apply as follows:
    • Cells inside the loop are unshaded, and cells outside the loop are shaded.
    • Clues outside the grid show the sum of the digits in each consecutive run of unshaded cells in that row/column. Consecutive runs of unshaded cells must have at least one shaded cell between them.
    • If a row/column contains one or more clues, the number of clues given indicates the number of separate consecutive runs of unshaded cells in that row/column. If a row/column does not contain a clue, it may contain any combination of shaded/unshaded cells.
    • A "?" outside the grid represents any value that takes up at least one unshaded cell in that row/column.

Awesome ! Easy to use the negative constraint here, but it also triggers some really cool deductions. Thanks :)
