Foggy Knight

Normal Sudoku rules apply. The grid is covered by fog and correctly placing digits may reveal additional digits.
Each digit (except the digit in the very centre of the grid) satisfies only one of the following conditions:
- It can see the same digit (at least once) with a knight's move.
- It is in its own box (eg: 9 in box 9)
- It is the digit 5.
The digit in the very centre of the grid satisfies two conditions.
No guessing is required or allowed.

I just want to let future solvers know, this puzzle is amazing. The rating seems to be about bugs in the software, not the logic or enjoyment of the puzzle itself. It seems the bugs are fixed so don't let the rating put you off

Felt the frustration with the CTC app on this one. Was happy that the link to the alpha version was included. I was worried when I made it to the end and it said my solution was incorrect. Might be worth putting a note to let others know that it doesn’t check for the correct solution. Otherwise a fun ruleset, thanks for the puzzle.

Fun puzzle, but some of the issues with the puzzle in SudokuPad make the solve a bit frustrating. In addition to not being able to pencil mark some cells, I also couldnt place the digit in a cell once I deduced what it was since there was a given digit underneath the fog. Additionally it seems that the puzzle has an anti-knight so i had to turn off the conflict checker.
I understand the app will release an update that fixes this but perhaps using single cell cages until then would be helpful.

This was a fun one to solve. Even with the quirks in CTC with this puzzle. Working without pencil marks gave it another challenge for me. Really fun to solve one I got my head around the limits with these rules. Thanks for setting this.

really wanted to give it a try because it started off quite enjoyable. sadly enough I cant correctly make pencil marks that dont actually reveal the solution

Interesting puzzle, on which I am still working. Two funny issues with the CTC version. One is that some cells (probably those with underlying pre-specified content)will not permit entering of pencil marks. The other is that the anti-knight constraint seems to be active (which, of course, it ought not to be).

Thats an interesting quirk I hadnt noticed before - you cant pencil mark a cell if it contains a number that I presume would be uncovered by fog.
